It's been so long since I promised to post a picture of my Fair Isle hat that I thought I would just write a new post all together.
Here is the hat that I made for my husband. He insisted on the ear flaps, which were part of the pattern, but I think something about them looks off. However, I don't want to make too big a deal about it because then he won't wear the hat at all. Gotta walk a fine line there.
I am, however, pretty happy with my first attempt at Fair Isle! The yarn is 100% wool, a superwash, DK weight. Hopefully it will be easy to care for although I noticed after I blocked it it felt bigger. But that turned out to be OK, thankfully.
This is another hat I made a few years ago - my first attempt at a hat, really. It is my daughter's hat but she didn't want to pose, so my little guy is helping me out. He is so good about that! Please disregard the runny nose. I'm just glad he sat still long enough for me to get the picture.

Cute pictures! The fair isle hat is gorgeous...and I think the runny nose makes the photo of your son even more adorable.
Good words.
