Oh, the pressure - why do I do this to myself every year? Actually I think I would have done great had I not lost weeks with the Creative Knitting sock pattern error and the bizarre pattern instructions for the Sirdar cardigan. Anyway, the good news is I have completed one toddler cardigan - just have to weave in ends and add my "hand knit by Noelle" label. It's the "Chunky Jacket" from "The Gift Knitter" which is a great book full of baby knits and doggie jackets - cool combination, huh?
and, one Koigu lattice scarf. I'm 90% done with a second one that needs to be blocked, wrapped and turned over to the recipient by tomorrow evening! Whew, I'm sweating that one. Unfortunately, the colors didn't come through very well on this photo, but they are warm, autumnal shades of olive, orange, brown and black. Hubby picked the colors and while I wasn't sure when I saw the two skeins, I think they blended pretty nicely.
Still need to finish the Sirdar cardigan-from-hell (my wonderful knitting guru friend Barbara made a suggestion and that is I'm going to skip the crazy edging which has eluded me for months and just do a simple garter stitch there, then pick up with the tulip lace pattern after that) complete the second sock to go with the one I am 90% done with, as well as complete and customize one sock monkey.
I was so excited when I found out I have Jury duty on Monday, but then realized I can't bring my knitting needles! Here I thought I would have hours and hours to sit in the jury waiting room and knit, but that isn't going to happen. I'm hoping I can smuggle in a sewing needle so I can at least do the sock monkey while I'm twiddling my thumbs.

No knitting during jury duty? Miscarriage of justice! (I suppose they want to make sure you're paying attention, even though I'm sure most jurors doodle all day. I hope you get a bunch of speeding ticket cases or something so you're not stuck there for days on end.)
That cardigan is ADORABLE! The colors are cool, and it looks so snuggly.
I lost this whole week of knitting...I've been taking the Metra to work because it's closer to my house, and I've been carrying a different purse that doesn't have room for projects. At least I've gotten a lot of reading done, but now I have to make time for knitting while I'm at home. Today will be a marathon--I ain't leaving the house!
Yay!!! I was able to get my knitting needles in to Jury Duty! I've been about to progress several inches on my from-hell cardigan and it's looking good! I've been just in the waiting room - not been called to actually go to a court room yet. Of course when (if) I get to go to a court room I'll have to put my knitting away (go figure - ha ha :-) The Lake Cty jury commission has been so accomodating and nice - free parking, $5 lunch credit, free wi-fi for those w/ their own laps, computer terminals w/ internet access for those that don't (since I dropped my laptop on the floor I no longer have one :-( and a generous 1 1/2 hour lunch break. So as long as I can knit they can keep me here as long as they want!
Have you had to revise your Christmas gift knitting (i.e. are you still doing the Clapotis??)
Oh, I've revised SO MUCH gift knitting. I'll post about it later...possibly even today. I'm pretty bored.
I want jury duty now! That doesn't sound half bad...
