The Fall Interweave Knits is AMAZING--Noelle, if you do not have this yet, get it NOW. I just got it in the mail the other day, and I've already cast on for this lovely thing:
.
Also good:
And especially this:
Now I know everyone else has probably talked about this issue, and I'm so behind. But I don't care.
My roommate just made me watch this, which is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.

Wow - I love those patterns! I am going to have to get that issue... I don't currently subscribe to any knitting magazines, but I think I may have to start. My subscription to Paper Crafts just piled up under my bed - no time. But the upside is I sold all issues on eBay (have I told you how much I love eBay??) for just about as much as I paid for the subscription :-)
Hmmmmm, that movie does look weird - how about trying this one?
http://imdb.com/title/tt0450340/
It's "Unknown" and was written by my cousin, Matthew Waynee. It's really good, but no aliens - just a lot of twists and turns and it'll keep you guessing. I recommend it!!
Yeah, but it doesn't have killer tumbleweeds! ;) Congrats to your cousin, by the way--anything else in the works?
Sorry I wasn't around yesterday. I'm in one of my weird insomniac periods and didn't really sleep at all Tuesday night. Last night I slept for 14 hours (including the hour I was awake dealing with yet another migraine, but it wasn't too painful because I was half asleep through the whole thing), which was amazing.
I'm knitting the Minimalist Cardigan from IK all in one piece up to the sleeves--like you, Noelle, I started on it and realized that I'm about 36 yards shy of the pattern instructions. If I eliminate most of the seaming (and each piece is knit individually in the original pattern), that should save quite a bit of yarn (and time and PAIN, seaming is a bitch). I'm using Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Superwash Worsted in a colorway called Ocean Sky--I got it at Loopy's big summer sale a couple of months ago. It's soooooo soft and wonderful, a bit thin-and-thick in places which should give the fabric some lovely textural interest. I'm hoping to have some left over for a hat for my niece...fingers crossed!
How's the Tangerine Twist treating you, Noelle?
ohhhh, my head is spinning. Yesterday I tried to inventory my yarn stash - I confirmed that YES I must get myself organized and put my yarns in some sort of order. The good news is I found some yarn (and a pattern!) that I forgot I had. It looks like it will work for a cute summer weight top that I think I'm going to knit for my SIL in Florida. I decided to try and knit a Christmas gift for about half of the people on my list. This may turn out to be another one of those self-imposed stress-ridden goals but I'm going to try. So, I have my brother (alpaca scarf), MIL (Koigu lattice scarf), FIL (socks but my hubby doesn't think that's a good idea due to fit issues. What do you think??) SIL (short-sleeved summer sweater), other SIL (felted tote or Koigu lattice scarf if I run out of time), niece (cable knit sweater). Whew - and I usually try and knit scarves for each of my daughter's 4 teachers. Do you think I can do it?? I have 3 1/2 months... Oh, and this weekend I need to knit a baby hat for a newborn little boy, and a toddler back pack for a 2 yr old's birthday in 3 weeks. So, to answer your question, Tangerine Twist and I haven't done anything - just look at each other longingly. As always, the project for ME gets pushed to the back burner... at least until after Christmas.
